Power System Consultants (PSC) is made up of a team of experts to provide cutting edge services to UK base clientele.
We have a proven track records of solving challenging problems for our clients for many years. We help our clients to achieve their goal by providing tailored services in their net zero journey.
To meet the growing demand of our services, we are looking for an exceptional Grid consultant to join our team.
Main duties of the job will include:
Feasibility design of HV / EHV (up to 132kV) electricity networks
Preparation of layout, Single line diagram and writing engineering specifications
Modelling networks in PSSE / Dig-silent power factory, IPSA
Design of protection schemes (up to 132kV) and relay setting / coordination study.
Preparation of compliance design as per DNO, IDNO and ENA standards
Carry out the principal designer’s duties for major connection and capital projects
Build a strong relationship with customers and stakeholders.
Able to work under pressure and manage workload to meet deadline of submission.
Requirements
Significant experience in HV electrical distribution network design.
Professional qualification in electrical engineering (HND/BEng/MEng preferred)
Professional Registration (IEng/CEng) – preferred or working towards
Comprehensive knowledge of the Electricity Act 1989, Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, ENA, DNO and IDNO design standards
Experience of NERS design approval process with DNO/IDNO/ICP and advantage
Experience using electricity design software tools (IPSA, CYMCAP, ELEK Cable HV, MicroStation, AutoCAD or their equivalents).
Strong communication skills (Verbal and written)
Ability to self-start and work without direct supervision (we do not and will not micro-manage)
Strong organisational skills
Knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and the requirements of the ‘Designer’ role
Benefits
Salary dependent on experience, guide is £40,000 for highly experienced engineers, more £45,000+ for senior design engineers.
